Results from a recent study from TipTopJob.com of over 1000 UK jobseekers show that 18% of respondents apply to more than 20 vacancies when looking for a new job.
The results reflect the difficulty of finding a new job in the current tough economic climate and serve as a reminder that in their desperation to find work, jobseekers are increasing their chances by casting their net a bit wider than in previous years. If jobseekers feel that they can find and apply for more jobs themselves where, we ask, can recruitment companies fit in?
The survey also found that 35% of jobseekers apply to 1 or 2 jobs and 20% apply to between 2 and 5. In light of this there is the need for recruitment agencies to offer their existing candidates more opportunities in order to keep them engaged. Being in the position to offer multiple and various roles to candidates offers many benefits to both the recruiter and the candidate.
Bradley Placks, CEO of MyResourcer; the award-winning vacancy lead generation software comments, “It can only makes sense that recruiter’s should strive to offer a good candidate, multiple job opportunities, rather than just one. Increasing their offerings would surely increase their candidate’s interview ratio and see a placement increase in return. As long as recruitment companies can tailor the vacancies found so that they are both relevant and practical to the skills and specifications of the candidate there is no reason why multiple opportunities should not be offered.”
MyResourcer does just this by giving recruitment consultants access to half a million direct employer career pages and the added bonus of the ability to monitor their own securely uploaded database and job boards. The award-winning software performs live searches and alerts recruiter’s when direct employers upload new vacancies. Searches can be refined by keyword, location and sector to ensure that candidates can be offered vacancies that are really targeted and relevant to them.
